In the north of Finland, the forests are in trouble... trees, animals, bugs are dying off. And just across the border, inside Russia, a huge arrow-shaped structure has showed up on satellite imagery.

But the photos are too oblique and too shaded by clouds for the photo-reconnaissance analysts to work out what's going on.

NATO needs to take a look at this weird arrowhead from ground level. But whom can they send? Someone resourceful... Someone with the right knowledge... Someone who isn't on a government payroll... Someone expendable? It could just be time to send for Danny Rook. But where is he?

At the same time, university arboriculturists in Finland and Scotland think they know what's causing forests on the Kola Peninsula to die back, so they want to get a look inside Russia too...
